Rare Jamaican treasure found on Florida's East Coast
Uniques (aka Ortaniques) are a cross between a chinese Mandarin Orange and a wild Jamaican Tangerine. They were grown extensively in Jamaica years ago. Today I can only think of 4 groves in the entire State of Florida that grow Uniques. We are blessed to be one of those growers. I must say they're my personal favorite and I hope you'll love them too.
"LEGEND OF THE UNIQUE ORANGE" A Florida grower, vacationing far away in Jamaica, stumbled upon a most peculiar looking orange tree. Sampling its rare, odd-shaped fruit, he was thrilled with the uniquely-zesty, tropical flavor. Excitedly he snipped off a few carefully chosen sprigs of healthy bud-wood, and hurried back to Florida with his rare, precious cargo. After many painstakingly long years of grafting, he finally succeeded in cultivating a Jamaican orange on Florida soil!
